Frequently Asked Questions

Which days of the week can children attend?

We operate three days a week, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9.30am-3.30pm. Terms dates follow roughly those of B&NES (Bath and North East Somerset) with each term generally 6 weeks long with a week holiday for half term.

How much does it cost?

The cost is £35 per day if your child is attending all three days (£105 per week) and £40 a day if attending for just two days. There is a discount of 10% for siblings.
We are a not for profit Community Interested Company, the Directors and the Core Team are all volunteers. We pay for our skilled facilitators and their on-going training. Fees are also used to cover resources, insurance and other running costs.

Do you accept working family tax credits?

Unfortunately we can’t accept working family tax credits at the moment as we are not currently Ofsted registered. However, in the future we hope to look into our facilitators being Ofsted registered child-minders which would mean we could accept tax credits.

Can I visit the project?

We prefer parents to attend an Interested Parents Evening initially to learn about the project. They are designed to give you the opportunity to ask lots of questions about the project, the self-directed learning approach and the Agile tools we use with the children.

Site visits are arranged for parents who are interested in the next steps but there may be less time to chat in depth as we might be managing our own children too. If you have any questions other questions or would like to attend one of our Interested Parents Evenings please email us.

What are your Facilitators like?

Both of our facilitators, Natalie and Lois, hold enhanced DBS certificates. They have also completed Child Protection Safeguarding training and Paediatric First Aid courses. Whilst they both love working outdoors, Natalie holds a Level 3 Forest School Practitioner Award.

Nat and Lois love working with children and support them to follow their interests and passions. They've helped the children to do various activities ranging from woodworking and cooking to sewing and crafting. They are fun, energetic, patient, creative and inspiring and help the children to make decisions about their learning.
