The Wolf Pack welcomed Gaia into the space this week and I was really impacted how the children shared their own 'being new' experiences, how they have offered to be buddies for Gaia and each other and have been really attentive and kind with one another, checking in and inviting each other into play when someone is alone.
The love and kindness in the space is heart warming and natural, it comes from a deep well within the children through empathy and care and they are encouraged and given opportunity to be there for each other but not forced. The work on agreements, kindness, sharing how we are feeling and identifying what we need really shows the first week back. It feels like family. We really do believe in the African proverb 'Ubuntu' at the Green House, recognising we all impact one another and are all valuable members of the group and together we can create a welcoming, kind, dynamic space of growth and learning and healthy community. The children are wonderful, they really inspire me and give me hope for a better world. A great start to the Spring term!
